It’s fifty-five minutes on the treadmill made up of three intensity blocks of brisk walking, three hill pulses at 3.5%, and a steady close, with the incline never breaking 3.5% and no running anywhere in the session. The point is that you can do it three or four times a week without being wrecked afterwards, because hard cardio raises cortisol and chronically high cortisol holds onto fat around the middle and leaves you feeling tired and puffy. This works the other way around: you finish warm and slightly out of breath, ready to get on with your day rather than needing to lie down.

Done consistently, you’ll feel the difference around week six. By twelve weeks, so will everyone else.
